Doha-Qatar, 4th November 2009: Staff Brigadier (Sea) Mohammed Bin Nasser Al Mohannadi, Chairman of the Doha 2nd International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2010), will lead a high level Qatar Emiri Naval Forces (QENF) delegation to Thailand to participate at one of Asia’s most important defence exhibitions, Defense & Security 2009 in Bangkok, from 4th to 7th November.
Responding to an invitation from the Thailand government for Qatar to be represented at Defense & Security 2009, the QENF delegation including Staff Colonel (SEA) Abdulbaqi Saleh Al-Ansari will be accompanied by DIMDEX 2010 Exhibition Director Mr. Mohamad Nabhani.
“Defense & Security 2009 is the biggest and most important Tri-Service defense and security exhibition in Asia. I thank the Thai government for their invitation and look forward to meeting many of the 300 world-class defence manufacturers and encouraging them to include DIMDEX on their 2010 exhibition schedule,” says Staff Brigadier Al Mohannadi.
The most comprehensive and only fully integrated maritime defence exhibition and conference in the Middle East and North Africa, DIMDEX 2010 takes place at Doha Exhibition Center from 29th to 31st March 2010.
Bringing together regional and international companies to present the latest technologies to meet the maritime challenges of the 21st century, DIMDEX’s presence at Defense & Security 2009 is expected to increase the number of Asian VIP delegations and defence manufacturers attending the 3-day DIMDEX 2010 exhibition and conference.
“VIP delegations and warship visits are of high importance as DIMDEX 2010 seeks to enhance Qatar’s reputation as the anchor of the Middle East and North African maritime defence industry. Over 90 VIP delegations have been invited and around 20 warships are expected,” confirmed Staff Colonel Al-Ansari.
The official DIMDEX delegation to Defense & Security 2009 will focus on meeting international exhibitors, in particular to motivate Asian and Australian companies to grasp the unrivalled opportunity to exhibit in one of more than 20 National Pavilions at DIMDEX 2010.
“A significant number of Asian and Pacific countries are guaranteed to participate at DIMDEX 2010. Australia, China, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, South Korea, as well as Thailand, have taken the initiative in reserving National Pavilions and we hope to receive more interest during our visit to Defence & Security 2009,” explains Mohamad Nabhani.
Defense & Security 2009 is one of the Far East defence shows on the 2-year DIMDEX 2010 promotional campaign to interact with leaders of the maritime and coastal defence industry. Participating in many of the world’s major maritime events has proved highly successful with DIMDEX 2010 expecting to announce 84 percent exhibition space sold in advance of the 29 March 2010 opening.
