Al Mohannadi: “excellent opportunity to promote DIMDEX 2010 amongst our Asian, European and GCC partners”
Doha, Qatar, 3rd January 2010: Representatives from the Doha 2nd International Maritime Defence Exhibition & Conference 2010 (DIMDEX 2010) have returned from hugely successful visits to three of the world’s premier defence exhibitions with news that the DIMDEX French Pavilion is fully booked and manufacturers of the caliber of DCNS, CMN, DCI/NAVFCO/DESCO and Zodiac, headed by GICAN/SOGENA, have confirmed their participation at DIMDEX 2010 in Doha from 29th to 31st March 2010.
Headed by Commander of the Qatar Emiri Naval Forces and DIMDEX 2010 Chairman Staff Brigadier (SEA) Mohammed Bin Nasser Al Mohannadi, and accompanied by DIMDEX 2010 Exhibition Director Mohamad Nabhani, DIMDEX made its first visit to mainland Europe’s largest defence exhibition, Milipol Paris, from 17th to 20th November.
Highlighting the emergence of DIMDEX as the Middle East and North Africa’s only integrated maritime defence show, the delegation to Milipol were able to defy the global defence industry investment cutbacks affecting other events by attracting leading suppliers to ensure the DIMDEX 2010 French Pavilion will be fully booked.
“Milipol Paris was an excellent opportunity to support Qatar’s historical and economic ties with France, while extending our relationships with French and other international naval delegations,” says Staff Brigadier Al Mohannadi.
Joining the record 53,000 visitors at the Dubai Air Show from 15th to 19th November 2009, a DIMDEX delegation finalized agreements with several Russian companies to take their place in the DIMDEX 2010 Russian Pavilion.
Rounding off a busy period for DIMDEX management and their Qatar Emiri Naval Forces partners was another successful visit to the Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA ‘09), Asia’s largest air and sea defence exhibition from 1st to 5th December 2009, where a high level delegation concluded deals with several Italian companies for space at DIMDEX 2010.
“LIMA ’09 was a gateway to meet all the major players in the Asian defence sector. It was also an opportunity to touch base with already confirmed international exhibitors to listen to their suggestions and requests which will definitely enhance the services provided by the organisers. ” advises DIMDEX 2010 Exhibition Director Mohamad Nabhani.
“In total, the three exhibitions offered us unrivalled opportunities to promote DIMDEX 2010 and the State of Qatar amongst a world class audience of over 2,200 exhibitors and 120,000 visitors.”
The Middle East and North Africa’s largest dedicated maritime defence exhibition and conference, DIMDEX 2010 takes place at the 15,000 sq m Doha Exhibition Center from 29th to 31st March 2010.
Attending DIMDEX 2010 will be 135 exhibitors and 20 National Pavilions, 91 invited VIP delegations, 7,000 defence industry visitors, 200 naval and defence journalists, plus 20 warships will anchor in Doha International Port.
One of many new innovative changes for DIMDEX 2010 is the incorporation of the Middle East Naval Commanders (MENC) Conference - Delivering Security at Sea: Policy, Technology & Operations - on the second day of DIMDEX, Tuesday 30 March 2010.
The MENC conference will bring together every GCC naval commander alongside their counterparts from Europe, Asia, and North America at the largest gathering of naval commanders in the Middle East in 2010.
